Basing a musical entirely on an artist's work is not a new concept...Movin' Out, Mamma Mia, We Will Rock You. U2's Where The Street's Have No Name and Green Day's American Idiot musicals are pushing it..(just to throw in there for fun SPIDERMAN the musical..) But YVES ST. LAURENT THE MUSICAL? French composer Alain Chamfort apparently made an entire pop rock album inspired by the designer called "Une Vie Saint Laurent" and it's going to be made into a musical in 2011. Hm, interesting... Next broadway hit fo sho. Here's one of the songs from the album: "A la droite de Dior" Pretty fun and french.
